Share Operational Information via Unit metadata

We have a simple mechanism for customizing the Unit Dashboard: add Annotations to your Unit.

We currently support two categories of these Annotations:

  • Status-BadgeName: Adds a status badge "chip" above the Activity on the Unit Details page Overview tab displaying the annotation key with the Status- prefix stripped off and the value. You can use this to post information you want teammates to see when they are working with that Unit.

  • URL-LinkText: Adds a URL link to the URLs subtab on the right side of the Overview tab. The link text is displayed with the URL- prefix stripped off. You can use this to post links to playbook markdown pages, monitoring and/or logging dashboards, your running application, operational scripts, or whatever you find useful.
